Ciao Everyone,
As I sit here with the rain pelting against the window I can’t help but think of my wonderful holiday to Rome. So I’m gonna share a little of it with you guys. ❤
Going to Rome had always been a dream of mine and I nearly got there a few years ago but didn’t! 😦 But then came along my ‘knight in shining Armour’ and whisked me off to Rome for 4 days and it was the most amazing holiday I’ve ever had. Dreams do come true!
Between the food and the architecture I was living in a dream world every day. It was everything I imagined it to be and more. From bike rides in parks to walking 5-6 hours a day, it was all blissful. And Yes I had an ice cream and it was the most delicious ice cream I’d ever had, Sorry Teddies! 🙂
Here’s a little bit of what we saw………..
The Colosseum
We pre booked a tour online which is really the best idea unless you fancy standing in a queue for hours of your day. Our tour guides name was Sev and he was brilliant. He knew every little piece of the Colosseum and it was all very interesting. This was probably the most enjoyable thing of everything!
St Peters Square, The Vatican Museums & sistine chalep
Now this is definitely a place you’ve got to pre book online because the queues were 3/4 hours long and that is just a waste of a day! To be honest on this day I was pretty sick, I had bronchitis but didn’t know it at the time so I was feeling terrible. There were so many people there and that kind of freaks me out at the best of times but when in Rome!!!!!!
Spanish Steps
The Spanish Steps are a set of steps in Rome, climbing a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti, dominated by the Trinità dei Monti church at the top. We went a few times to the steps and they were packed with people every time and at all hours of the day. There was a great buzz around them.
Of course there was so many more things we did but to be honest my advice is GO….GO to Rome and walk and keep walking. Its just beautiful.
My one bit of advice is bring comfortable shoes and take lots of pictures. Even though pictures never do justice but just for your own memories.
David and me at the Vatican
Piazza Navona…..We loved this place!
That’s it for now guys….so if you ever get to go to Rome, enjoy every moment of it and soak up all its beauty.
Sleep well everyone and talk soon
Love
Marie-Ann
