Hi Everyone,
(OK I started writing this about a week ago and its taken a while for me to finish it and post it)
Hope everyone is well and keeping themselves as isolated as possible during these times.
It’s funny, at the beginning I was thinking this will all ok, nothing major is going to happen and everyone needs to calm down BUT now I have am completely taking this very serious and taking all the precautions.
Isn’t it funny how we all think we are invincible and then something like this happens and it really puts a lot in perspective. I also think its going to teach us a few things, like how we can live on a lot less, money wise and produced wise.
2 weeks before Ireland closed the schools etc I quit my job to finally do what I truly believed would be a great thing AND THEN COVID-19 HIT!!!!!!! I had finally decided to start up my own business, I had finally got the courage and the strength to do it. David was 100% in support of it and we had it all planned out.
If only we could only see the future! And how quickly things can change. Everything can be good and in just one day that dream of mine is proving very hard now to become a reality for me. The plan is to still go full steam ahead and continue with my dream but to be financially sensible about it at the same time.
I know a lot of people at this time will be full of anxiety and fear, I too have those days when I think WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING!!!!! So a few things we can do during this time to stop us all going completely crazy.
EXERCISE– It is so so so so so important. Honest if you have been following me for a while you know that i talk a lot about getting out into the air and breathing. Now a days it more important than ever. GET OUT AND MOVE!!!!! Walk, run, jog, skip whatever you feel like doing but do something!
READ/AUDIBLE– I am a MASSIVE fan of Audible.com (audio that speaks to you wherever you are!) π If you are not much of a reader join audible and honestly you will love it. I was never a massive reader and since joining audible I have devoured a massive amount of books which I never would have if it wasn’t for audible.com. Thanks Audible x
COLOUR– It’s only Children who can colour. There are some beautiful colouring books out there for adults. It’s a great stress reliever and the time fly’s by. I love it!
BAKE– If you have children Bake with the children. We baked at the weekend with the kids and when I say bake i mean we bought a box of dry ingredients and then added butter and eggs and put it in the oven, but even doing that together was great fun! Maybe a little stressful but FUN!!!! π
SCHEDULE– Put a schedule in place as soon as possible so things don’t get too crazy. We all need a routine and schedule and I think we all thrive on it, not just the children.
LEARN SOMETHING NEW CHALLENGE– I think it would be a really good time to learn something new or go back to something that you used to learn when you were younger if your as old as I am π I’m thinking about buying a small little keyboard and getting back into piano. I’ve always loved piano and my sister and I did piano lessons when we were younger for a few years but then socializing and being a teenager got in my way and I STOPPED, one of my biggest regrets! π¦ So I think I am going to try and get back into it, it will pass a few hours a day and it will be so enjoyable.
MEDITATION– A little bit of meditation everyday will also help our minds and help with the fears and anxiety we all have at the moment. Head Space is a great app to use to get even just 5 minutes of meditation in everyday.
Stay safe, stay positive & stay at home. It’s so important that we listen to the advise we are getting and stick with it. It’s actually a matter of life and death so lets be sensible and stay home where possible.
Talk soon
Stay safe & positive
Lots of love
